What is Certified Translation?
A certified translation is the translation of document which is typically required for the purpose of immigration, admission to institutions of higher learning, or legal.
At Translation Express, we provide certified translation service. A certificate of translation will be provided to you along with the translated document. It is to confirm that the document has been translated by a qualified translator and that we believe it is a true, accurate and complete translation.
Our certificate of translation is recognized by major government authorities and embassies in Singapore.
Below are some common documents that require certified translation:
- Birth / death certificates
- Marriage / divorce certificates
- Education certificates
- Medical reports
- Court verdicts
Note: Different governmental bodies may have different requirements for certification. Please check with the relevant authorities on their specific requirements.
What is Notarization?
Notarization of translation means to confirm that the signature, seal or stamp that appears on the translated document and translation certificate is genuine. The translated document along with its accompanying translation certificate have to be signed and dated in the presence of a notary public.
Notarized translations are sometimes required for immigration and legal purposes. At Translation Express, we work with an approved Commissioner for Oath and Notary Public to provide Notarization of translated documents and translation certificates to save you the hassle of going to a law firm.
Note: Notarization is normally required for documents that are intended for use in other countries. It is generally not required for documents that are for use in Singapore. If you are not sure if you need notarization service, it is always better to check with the respective authority that require the document.
